A common misconception. Nearly all evidence is circumstantial, unless the crime was videoed or directly witnessed. Your fingerprints on the murder weapon? Circumstantial. Caught leaving the scene with the goods? Circumstantial. Victim’s blood in your trunk? Circumstantial.

Can you truly get a fair trial most of the time in the real world either?

I like the number of comments here, seeing the analogy between this strip and the behavior of Donald Trump. Calvin is indeed attempting to try his case in the court of public opinion, and Susie is smart enough to have none of it.
