Yesterday, I mentioned in one of my comments that I wasn’t sure whether Calvin pushes Rosalyn by her back or by her butt. Today, it looks like she isn’t pushed at all but just jumps when Calvin slams the door behind her.
Nonetheless, I remember this story arc pretty well. As I said before, it is one of my six personal favourites from 1989 which is my favourite Calvin and Hobbes year because of those six personal favourites.
The proper thing for the babysitter to do at this point is assume that a home invader (the suspicious noise that Calvin reported) has locked her out, leaving Calvin in great peril. She should run to a neighbor’s house and call the police. The police can send in a SWAT team, and use tear gas and stun grenades to save poor Calvin.
A prison riot at such a young age? Ooh, you are digging your grave deeper and deeper… No, forget the grave. They’ll just seal you under a volcano like a immortal demon king!
