I used to shoot a LOT of slides - still have my projector and numerous carousels. My good old Minolta SLR, extra lenses, etc. have just been gathering dust for years now (I even still have some old Seattle Filmworks 35mm film I never shot) - digital is just so bleeep convenient…
(The “bleeep” was d-a-r-n-e-d)
Ushindi, I even used to buy 30M rolls of bulk film. I still have my reloader and a bunch of reusable 35mm film cans. One of these days I’ll have to get around to digitizing all my old slides.
Buy the kids their own digital camera. They’re available in cheap, kid-friendly versions now. (Cheaper than replacing your good one when they wreck it!)
runar: I’ve been digitizing mine for some time now (using my HP scanner) - I get bored, though, and take long breaks - hopefully I’ll get them finished before I am…
(Seattle Filmworks film was bulk 35mm movie film they reloaded into canisters - I never went that far myself. I used to shoot a lot of Kodachrome until California outlawed some of the chemicals used in developing slides. Then, all slides had to go out of state, so I began dealing with SFW and using their generic film.)
