Transcript:
Bucky: My show is on. Is your game over yet? Rob: Almost. 8th inning. Bucky: It was the 8th inning when I was in here an hour ago! Rob: It's the bottom of the 8th now. Bucky: But I went and took a nap and had a snack and threw domes tuff at Satchel since I was in here earlier. Rob: Well, there's been a lot of full counts. Couple of pitching changes, too. Bucky: Gimme the remote, I think you got it on slo-mo.

Actually, if it’s the bottom of the 8th, then it’d be the Red Sox giving the Yanks 24 runs like the Tennessee-California little league game.

It’s only dull to dull minds, Bucky.

I find baseball to be slightly more exciting than watching paint dry.

In this strip I totally identify with Bucky.

Dunno, sometimes I think that baseball is chess for beer-drinkers. I enjoy both games. But then, I’m a historian and don’t mind the longer ride. :-)

Detroit Tigers, Central Division Champions!

Yankees win, Orioles lose Monday – so Yanks on the way to clinching the AL East if they win the next two. Varnes seems to be the only one, besides me on this blog, who understands the intricacies of baseball – hardly dull, perhaps too complicated for those who like simpler games.

I like baseball…..sometimes. It can be dull or exiting. And sometimes it’s both.

Baseball is a sport; everything else is a game.

Okay, football is the slowest of sports. There are so many interruptions; it takes a long time to make some progress.

A rare momentary lapse of reason for Bucky (who of course was named after a baseball player). After all, baseball is the thinking person’s game.

In an average 3 hour football game, the ball is actually in play for about 7-8 minutes. The rest is filler. Yeah, that’s exciting. Give me soccer (or chess) any day.

Baseball is the quintessential American game – the object is to go around in circles.

If it was a Red Sox game Rob wouldve turned the game off by now. There is no way they would score a ton of runs in an inning with the team they got…..maybe give up runs

Okay, time for a little comparative learning. I refer you all to Mr. George Carlin’s wonderful comparison of football and baseball. Definitely worth a YouTube minute. No matter what your leaning, I can just about guarantee you’ll feel better about your sport after watching.

Oh! Football is much slower than baseball. Two seconds of frenetic activity and then 10 minutes of standing around. At least you can watch the coaches scratching themselves in baseball. And strategy—lots of strategy.

Give Bucky the remote. Please….. let him watch Mouse Hunting, Indoors – The European Version. It will be much more interesting. .@ AllanVS I caught some of the Javelin Throwing at the 2012 London Olympics – the women’s hepthalon and the men’s decathelon. There were women a lot better at throwing than the men.
