After I got past the salacious bent of today’s “strip”, I thought – please don’t let this be the end of the Gunther-Rosa saga.

That isn’t toe of the camel, it’s her FLY ffs!

Wow as if most of you have not seen your sister or mom take off a blouse. That is not the point, although I like the touch of reality. The point is how a shy boy and a pretty girl, who really likes the shy boy, and wants to have a more physical (yes I said physical, not necessarily sex, but hand-holding, kissing, you know normal teen-age type explorations of intimacy and love) can be helped to get over the shyness and deal with the yearning. Hey heard about human love? You are here right? How did you think that ever happened? As I always say lets see what happens to this arc before we jump to conclusions.

LOL, exactly!

What I see here is a serious lack of communication —

Gunther is going to be the bad guy no matter what here…

- She wants Gunther to hurry up and then when it isn’t what she has conjured up within her fantasy. Gunther is wrong.

- A confused Gunther takes his time not wanting to mess up something he thinks is special by rushing. He is wrong.

- Gunther innocently blunders romantically and upsets Rosa, Gunther is wrong.

- Gunther is fed up and walks off until he gets clear signals. He’s wrong here too.

Lose – lose – lose situation for bad guy Gunther in this book….

Rosa’s wants a case of Roman hands and Russian fingers with Gunther I guess. Doubt he’s ready for this type of turmoil in his life now. This such a 60’s comic strip.

Wow – We are getting 18 now. I feel sorry for anybody who would argue these frames aren’t supposed to be sexy. Back to Gunther – his reticence is not intentional. We can only hope that Cupid shows up fully armed……..SOON.

Rosa’s impatience is becoming more explicit. Maybe she is expecting too much, too soon, from shy Gunther. I hope she will not drop him immediately but instead give him a chance to move ahead at his own comfort-speed.

Seems to me that if Luann is friends to both and is over Gunther, then she shoul talk to Gunther and tell him how Rosa feels and to GO TO HER NOW (with Rosa’s permission).

Don’t worry Lev… I’m sure the “Bernice falls for Leslie” arc will be coming up soon ;)

Is this advanced PE? Seniors don’t have PE unless they’re in some sport. Guess they could be working out on their own.

If Rosa’s too demure to make the first move she deserves what she gets. That it never occurs to either of them to think of this as a possibility suggests that this strip is trapped in an era prior to the sexual revolution.

It is unknown if Luann and crew are seniors.^^^Luann and most of her friends are 16, the only way Luanne could be a senior is if she “skipped” a grade or two….NOT too likely (Although, somehow, both Lu and Tiff seem to avoid getting flunked…. must be that “No kid left behind” thing you have there in the USA)

(If you don’t understand what that means, please consult wikipedia on the subject of human reproduction. perhaps even the word tumescent.)

The notion of someone being grossed out by the possibility that someone would be turned on by a depiction in a cartoon strip of a couple of teenage girls in deshabille is what I find disturbing.

.This probably explains it. In male phantasy females are more sex obsessed than themselves. The problem is that girls look at males for protective friendship. For most this ends when they are corrupted. For a few it ends in marriage.

Gunther once did an elaborate tho’ nerdish evaluation of the charms of Luann vs. Bernice..He has shown willingness to flirt with both of them — and with Tiff as well. .This Rosa story is a bit difficult to reconcile.

The ancient law goes something like this:Women are like fires, men are like firefighters. If Rosa’s that hot to trot, Gunther will most likely rise to the occasion, once she, say, pins him to the wall and kisses him. Gunther would be bragging about that for weeks! At least, he should be.

I mentioned gender inequality yesterday. That said, Gunther needs to deal with reality…which is that things are NOT equal…and nut up.
