@Hugh and WeiAs a linesman, I am going to call offside… I would never put out an empty bowl. Someone would bust it. I just turn off the lights and hide in the rear rooms.
I will answer the door and pass out candy until I really MUST get to bed. They put little work into costumes now (not like mine or my kids times). I only have one grandson who is still young enough to Trick-or-treet, and he’s back in IL.
Ironically I put out a bowl one year with a sign saying take one, first group of kids that came along took it all…it sat there the rest of the night empty and people would come by and say all kinds of insults.
Doing what the comic suggests just saves them the candy.
