Phil: I heard you died, Bernie. Bernie: Uh... nope. Still here. Phil: You sure? It was from a pretty reliable source. Bernie: Do us all a favor and stay off the internet, Phil. Bernie and Phil's Retirement Home Zeitgeist...
I read a comment on another strip that Sir Roger Moore had died. When I searched Roger Moore on Nov 4, 2012 I found an obit…dated Nov 6, 2012.Now it seems he did a TV interview on the 7th about his book Bond On Bond
News flash —Roger Moore not dead!.(If you found his obituary at Necropedia, then you saw his “anticipated obituary”, always dated one or two days ahead of when you read it.)
fox news is not a reliable source. election night was a disaster for them. karl couldn’t believe the numbers. megan walking to number crunchers and was told about ohio. then, the blaming of the american voters started.
Much as I hate to rub it with the all-important question, but you should ask anyone (even a kid who don’t know any better) “IfI’m dead, would I be talking to you right now?”
“James Ross Clemens, a cousin of mine was seriously ill two or three weeks ago in London but is well now. The report of my illness grew out of his illness, the report of my death was an exaggeration”Here is a copy of the actual note he wrote:
First thing I do in the morning is check out the Irish Sports Page ( Obituaries ) and the Police Blotter. If I’m not listed in either one, then I know it’s going to be a good day !
I was at a Republican friend’s house Tuesday night and he had on Faux News…it was a hoot. I had to leave to keep from laughing at Carl Rove. Rushed home and kept watching it because it was so interesting watching the spin develop. I did keep going back to CNN when I wanted “fair and balanced” I may have to permanently unblock Faux from my UVERSE….almost as much fun as The Daily Show, except the DS is a much better news source.

Bernie may be boring to the point of being nearly dead but he does not look bored.

for people who do not like or trust a network news, you seem to spend an awful lot of time watching it.

Snopes is kept in business by rumors of stars dying, The Free Wood Post and The Onion.

I wonder if Egil has come up with a spellchecker for Internet-type runes to guard against that sort of thing.

Here’s what Mark Twain really said:

Saw Gordon Lightfoot a few years back, after his erroneously being reported dead. He quoted Twain.

As long as you know where Fox is coming from it’s a fine channel. Same can be said for MSNBC

ocngopher: As Molly Ivins was fond of pointing out, Herr Rove spelled his first name with a K, as befitted his politics.
