folks that buy something and then 3 weeks later when the newer model comes out they go buy that one because it is newer are just wasteful. If it is still working why replace it. If it is a year old or more just update the software.
When Apple went to iCloud, it forced me to buy an upgrade to Lion, that I would have otherwise needed. Lion, in turn, forced me to buy and upgrade to Photoshop CS6, that i would not have otherwise needed. And that is the drawback of ‘progress.’

If it still does what you need to do, Roy, keep it. “You have to have the newest (whatever)” is just a capitalistic plot.

My mom’s laptop has Vista. []The only thing keeping us from doing either a clean wipe in order to install 7 or getting a new laptop outright is $$$.
