For school tomorrow, I have to write an essay on what I'm most thankful for. I know what I'm most thankful for. You. You just made my day. Well, you've made my life.
To the Commentors as well as Brian Basset…This strip may be one of your best Brian, it actually did bring tears to my eyes and made me very grateful for every dog (and cat, and horse) I have been lucky enough to have in my life. You commentors let me know that I am not alone in my love for the creatures we were given to love. God Bless You all and I hope you all have a marvelous Thanksgiving!
To all who have written — thank you for your warm and kind comments. Happy Thanksgiving to all. Remember to add a little extra turkey and stuffing to your dog’s dish on Thursday!!-Brian
I just can’t express how wonderful this strip is. I read it every day and it always, always puts a smile on my face and a warm feeling in my heart. Thank you, Brian!!
Our dog and cat are both rescues and I can feel the love. Thanks, Brian, for a wonderfully poignant strip. May everyone be blessed with a Happy Thanksgiving!
I had to put my cat to sleep so the vet came to my houseto do the work. I cried like I didn’t know a human couldshed so many tears. She was 16 and I’d had her since she was 7 weeks old. She knew me better than I knew myself.Honest! Sometimes, I felt like she could read my mind.
A couple years before that, I had to have my other cat putto sleep. She was 15 and I’d had her since she was a tiny baby. Talk about crying.
I now have an old cat found on a country road on a coldwinter day. He’s old but in shape. Oh man! He’s sostrong. Have had him for 3 years this month and lovehim to pieces. Sleeps with me too :)
I know I will cry my heart out when it’s time for himto go but, then, I think of all the joy he brought me.So, I end up a winner. I’m sure.
I’m in bed, recuperating from an illness with my Dakota snuggled up in bed with me…she has made my life…this strip has made my day, and it made me cry! :) Beautiful!! <3

Boys, you’re making this cynical dog-and-cat mom cry, again! What a beautiful thought for Thanksgiving, or any day!

Mmmmmm…. I bet your wife’s toy poodles would be thrilled if they knew that you don’t consider them real dogs …

There’s a saying. “I wish I was half the man my dog things I am”
