The reason for Roy Rogers albeit good guy wearing a black hat is simple. In the early days of the western law man only the “lawman” wore the white hat. That way in a crowd of hats you could see him or her. When these movies and shows were done the old western lawman still lived. Wyatt Earp for one. Tom Mix carried his coffin along with numerous others when he passed I believe back in the late 30’s.The Texas Rangers in the early days all wore white hats so other lawmen would not shoot them at distance. Who else but a cop would wear a white hat to be seen at long range? I was psychological to the bad guys. They could see those hats coming and know the law is on your tail.One of the lesser know Ranger sayings is:“No one can stop a man who is in the right and keeps on coming.” Also it was his show and he wanted to be seen as different from the others but notice his brim edge is white.

Yes, Very Happy Birthday to Stel, and a Happy Un-Birthday to the rest of us! The Rooster cake reminds me of one big party where I did a chicken salad in that style, iced with whipped cream cheese and body covered with flaked yolk from hard boiled eggs, used pimento and olives for decoration. .All the talk of candy has me thinking that I should make a whole recipe of candied orange peel. I’ll pick some fresh oranges in my front yard, wash and segment them and do that stuff. I still use granulated sugar for stuff like that (not just to scrub my face). After they have all set up from candying I will melt some REALLY dark (85% cocoa) and dip them up to the ends I am holding – very yummy! But mostly for adults who appreciate dark chocolate (good, since not only 2 0r 3 of my grandkids will be there, but 4 of his). Of course the imaginary ones we can eat right here.

If those photos of Madonna are correct, she has had SERiOUS “work done” I do plan a little tummy and thigh work (non invasive and somewhat affordable from my savings) but only to make things nicer for my man. He is ideal for me!

I don’t even have hair or nails done by anyone but myself and I just want to be OK on top now that he has back problems.

I have not woorked out as much as usual this month but only because work on my veins has instructions not to work with more than 15# and no leg lifts (and a bunch of other C**p that removes most of my routine. I normally bench press a pair of 12# for 2 sets of 25 reps and do 3 sets of bench rows with a 15# as well as all the other stuff and my ankle weights are @ 4# for the difficult stuff and 8# for other. I normally work out 3 times a week and the only unhealthy thing in my life is the gin (good for killing germs, ya know ;-P

Yeah, Dry- you understand! and I will (taking both my BP and Resperate devices with me as we are both in mid 70s, but his BP is fine)..@X, both songs had good music; bee had a better vibe and both would be better just as instrumentals in my Nho! I love good blues!

@x,I also saw and watched the cats in water while there. We had a cat who had intense curiousity about water in kitchen sink when I was young. I would turn on just a trickle and watch her go and hit it with a paw and eventually she would be ankle deep in water looking into the faucet for the mystery source – too funny!

Well, here it is…12:45 am on the eastern end of Ballard St. BUT, it’s still my birthday on the western end!!! but I’m on the eastern end… Oh, there’s no gettin’ around it…the best birthday party I ever had is winding down…all good things must end and all that.

I want you all to know what a terrific bunch of people (and monkeys and dogs and cats and… ) you are! I am very touched that you all got together here to celebrate my birthday….and (sniff) well, you know…(sniff, snuffle) it was a tremendous surprise (I was 8 at my last party) and I was feeling so low this morning before I came here ( blows nose . Well, you’re all very special to me!
