Sometimes, knowing what not to do is a blessing.

Today is not a good day for me to be sympathetic to Cathy’s mom in this comic. I am frustrated today with many people (not my mom) who are not helpful at all and are only giving me more things to do, which are directly caused by their lack of helpfulness. I’m sure Cathy’s mom means well and does this sort of thing out of love, but sometimes one needs to stop after saying, “I know, sweetie” My mom used to do many of the things that Cathy’s mom is doing, and sometimes I just really wanted a sympathetic ear and that’s all. I don’t need more things to do! (But I do look at her clippings and things with fondness because they show her love)

Smother much? lightenup is right – sometimes all one needs is a sympathetic ear. Unfortunately the last of my sympathetic ears dies a couple of years ago and I have not found another one to talk to in person – of course being in isolation has not helped. Sure glad there are sympathetic ears here for me or I might have a little more trouble coping.

Did have a good day yesterday – it was conference day. Sure miss meeting friends in person but virtual is better than nothing just like virtual sympathetic ears . Of course I had trouble sleeping last night with all those new ideas running around in my brain.

I hope everyone is looking forward to a good weekend and lightenup, I hope you find a way to deal with those who are giving you more things to do.

Cathy will be celebrating Smother’s Day on Sunday.

Whoa—guess Cathy didn’t see this onslaught of reading materials coming her way from her mom. I confess that I didn’t, either. Maybe she should find a big pop-up bubble to shield herself from future deluges … ?
