Quill is so grounded I can hardly believe he’s taken an interest in Luann… but I’m giving him the benefit of the doubt. He must see that she’s got some very good qualities despite her apparent lack of maturity. He sees Tiffany for what she is, but old Tiff is still going to cause problems – or there wouldn’t be much of an arc.

Why does tiffany even have his number, or at least say she could find it online.

You text internationally by adding the country code before the phone number. I text my wife from Mexico all the time.

People seem to have missed another important point. Not only does Tiffany have Quill’s number, he already had hers as the phone recognised the number…

For anybody who texts and calls internationally and also travels internationally, here’s a tip: Pre-pend the country code to ALL phone numbers in your contacts list, starting with a plus sign (+). A US number would be +1 555-555-5555, for example. That way everything works no matter which country you or the recipient are in.

Verizon told me to text internationally all you have to do is dial the number, no country code. Did it on a cruise and it works. Texting is different from voice.

You know Quill is being serious when he calls Luann by her name instead of “Yank”. He is too mature for her, but I sure do hope it works out and that she grows up fast and realizes what a good thing she has here (unlike when she had a chance with Gunther).

Ok, Luann is angry, we’ve all been angry like that, ranting and screaming. But I wouldn’t say Luann is immature. Jeez, I’m 30 and I still rant at my BF about people like Tiff. He listens and then, when I’m done, we focus on other things.

OMG, he’s a player. He is too smooth, and is keeping both girls by saying to each what they want to hear. My lover still puts up with all my nonsense because he’s the sensible level-headed one and I’m a flibberty-gidget! We’re both in mid seventies and I love him as madly as when we first met, and he tolerates me, because he loves me in his way. I prefer a torrid affair to a boring marriage! Luann understands costs, she bought her own car didn’t she?^^Her car disappeared (like Aaron, Zane, Dirk, Derrick….etc)… likely because she was never hired at the Library as she was expecting to be(Her reading “job” was strictly volunteer); part of the car deal was that Luanne got work to make payments.

I’m hoping it’s TJ. I always thought TJ was better for Quill then Luann. And since Bad seems to be in for the long haul with Toni, TJ needs to set his sights on the next available.

That would be something if Luann could go there—and unlike her jaunt to Hawaii, she won’t get the surprise of seeing Quill with someone else. But she would need to scrounge up the dough (not to mention getting a passport) to travel there.

It’s good to see that someone reads the blog here! Quill’s setting seems quite desirable. Maybe in due course Luann will be able to make a visit there, just as Quill hopes to get back to the USA….

How do we know he’s asexual? You said it yourself, the only date he was on was with Luann. Delta and Tiffany showed interest. Ann kissed him. All females. Mr. Evans hasn’t shown him in any other situations so we don’t know how he would react. Just because TJ hasn’t shown interest in Brad or any other guy doesn’t mean he wouldn’t if the right person came along. Brad is his roommate. It’s just as bad that you are assuming that TJ being gay would mean he would be actively pursuing a relationship.

No! Luann, that’s mean! You have to give Tiffany attention! Give it, give it, give it! Why else were you put on this earth except to be happy and make other people happy? Now you call Tiffany right now and listen to her all afternoon. And drink coffee. Coffee makes it better too. I like that Quill got to be in the strip besides as a face on a screen. That can just as easily prove he is homosexual or that he just doesn’t like Luann, Delta, Tiffany and Ann in that way. So because he doesn’t like these four, it means he doesn’t like any women or men?

So he didn’t hit on Brad or any other male that we know of, I have had many gay friends that have never hit on me. And about Ann. TJ wasn’t trying to get in her pants, he was trying to exact revenge for Brad and was having fun doing it. He saw her as a enemy, the kiss could have easily just surprised him.

Look, there is no evidence TJ swings either way but there is also no evidence he doesn’t, and the reason for that is that Mr. Evans hasn’t needed him to lean any particular way. In the end, this is still just a fictional narrative and the characters are subjected to the whim of the writer. TJ’s behavior has only and will ever only serve Mr. Evans’ story needs.

TJ likes women. This is amply shown in past strips where he tried (more than once) to hustle women in the EMT class he took with Brad, and in the joy he showed when Toni laid a hot kiss on him for finding the bratling Shannon in the laundry room. He hated Ann and didn’t respond to her kiss because she was a snake trying to sexually harass him. It did NOT scare the *&#$ out of him. He was angered by it, not frightened.

TJ is an adult, same as Brad. There is currently no appropriate woman available for TJ to go after, so he’s without a love interest. There’s no way, given the pureness of Luannverse, that TJ would date a high school kid. He did take Luann to the prom and had a great time, but Greg was very careful to deflect any inappropriate interest away from Luann at the end, because TJ CAN’T SERIOUSLY DATE OR BE INTERESTED IN A 16-YEAR OLD IN LUANNVERSE. I would LOVE to see some hot woman enter the strip and turn TJ’s head, but I doubt that will ever happen. But yet, since he’s an adult, and only adults get to have actual relationships in Luannverse, I hold out hope that maybe some day it will occur to Greg to give TJ a real love interest.

You are wrong, Lev. You just hate the crap out of TJ and nothing he ever does or says is even the slightest bit ok with you. He’s not afraid of women. You just want to bag on him, and we all know it. I’ve advanced a perfectly good in-universe explanation of why TJ’s not hooked up with anyone and you have nothing to say about it. NO ONE in Luannverse has a relationship except Mom and Dad and Brad and Toni. Crystal and Knute have a friendship of some kind—she doesn’t even think they’re in a relationship. Gunther and Rosa have kissed a couple times and it looked like she’s going bye-bye (parents want her to go to an Ivy League school) and is cooling toward Gunther. Maybe they’re going to be the pair to buck the trend and actually have an on-page BF/GF thing beyond a couple kisses—we can wait and see. Luann has her 8000-mile relationship with her cyberboyfriend. So it’s not strange at all that TJ’s not with anyone! Hardly anyone else is, either! To put up Ann as evidence that TJ’s afraid of women is laughable. She was trying to use him in a disgusting way and he resisted. You think he should have responded to that and started dating her, or what? Give us a break. What would you think if it had been a male boss doing that to a female employee? Yeah, reprehensible. No difference. So give that dead horse a rest. Cruel to keep beating it.
