Wouldn’t it just be easier if society said it was “OK” for the girls to ask the boys? I know there are the occasional “Sadie Hawkins Day” dances where that happens, but from what I remember, girls can be just as fearful of rejection as boys can be (the shoe is on the other foot!). From my experience, I think that boys actually deal with this sort of rejection better than girls.
