It is sad that people really feel that way. While I am no animal activist, I am fully aware that our pets do love us unconditionally. Look at the dogs who pine away for their deceased owners. Look at my cats who wander through the house crying when my husband leaves for work (or even goes for a walk). Look at horses who will grieve themselves to death when a beloved stablemate dies or is sold away from them. We could learn a lot about unconditional love from our pets.
The cat my husband’s family had when he was kid had divided tasks among family members – one for feeding her, another for cleaning up after her, my husband to purr at while in heat. She totally didn’t like me when I showed up.

Men are the same way. As long as you will feed us, we’re yours for life.

Dogs love their people even when they forget to feed them. Dogs have to be the best thing ever “invented”. :)
