Alice: I can feel it. The pressure's building in me for a tantrum of epic proportions. Alice: Anything could set me off. Daddy singing in the car on the way to preschool. Dropping a crayon. Miss Bliss looking at me funny. Or Dill in general. Alice: Don't you ever get like this? Petey: Im saving it for when I'm 13. Then KABLAMO!

Guys, I have watched these build in my granddaughters. Alice is going to be a real drama queen.

Petey’s restraint is admirable. Alice, on the other hand, seems too dangerous today for preschool. I think Madeline should keep her home and in her room today….

I believe that’s an ‘aura’ of “tantrum pressure.” And true to form, that’s a very, very painfully plain waffle on Petey’s plate, don’t you think?

I don’t think we want to be around Petey when KABLAMO finally happens

I think that Alice needs to see a psychiatrist and be put on some depressants!

Then again with Petey “kablamo!” could mean reading Little Neuro in bed with one foot haphazardly on the floor.

My older daughter was at the height of her terrible teens at age ten. By age sixteen, it had more or less run its course and she was as mellow as she was going to get till a gentler middle age took over.

A Zen student came to his teacher and complained: “Master, I have an ungovernable temper. How can I cure it?”“You have something very strange,” replied the teacher. “Let me see what you have.”“Just now I cannot show it to you,” replied the student.“When can you show it to me?” asked the Master.“It arises unexpectedly.” replied the student.“Then,” concluded the Master, “ it must not be your own true nature. If it were, you could show it to me at any time. When you were born you did not have it, and your parents did not give it to you. Think that over.”
