I find the problem is often between the chair and the keyboard, however the internet did ruin one thing. QA testing for software. Companies used to have lots of people testing things, because a bad release could ruin them. Now days they have a few people and let the public test out the software, bug found…fix it, release another update. We as the public are now the beta testers.
Problem is not everyone can get internet, there is still a large portion of the USA where people cannot get internet and an even larger portion where their top speed is barely faster than dial up. In my line of work I hear it all the time, I can’t get internet I’d love to have it, I am told. I look up a clients address to see what ISP they can get and sure enough they cannot get any type at all.
I always have to laugh a bit at people who talk about how awful Vista was, but like Windows7, which is basically some “window” dressing on the same operating system – really Windows 6 and 6.1, respectively. That said, Win8 is pretty bad – I can learn new ways to do things, but more complicated/more steps to do things I can do quite proficiently already doesn’t cut it.Win8 is a whole lot better with StartIsBack, or ClassicShell if you won’t spend $3 to fix what Microsoft should have got right in the first place, or if you prefer a WindowsXP style start.WinXP fans, your OS is on the lifesupport, and the plug gets pulled April 8, 2014. After that no more patches, so any new security holes will go without fixes.
I don’t know if anyone noticed but everyone hating WIn 8 has finally reached Microsoft. They are releasing a patch that returns the start menu button to the screen.

I won’t buy Windows 8. I prefer Windows XP, and hope that Microsoft will come up with something better than Windows 8.

I like the message that “Windows can’t locate the file. Would you like some wine instead?”

It’d be nice if once I’d receive some feedback from those error reports. Otherwise it goes into oblivion for all I know.

Actually trying to view these comics on line has produced real errors since early last week….the green bar at the top comes up, then nothing.

evidently Windows 8 was made for the ipad and tablets and it doesn’t work properly on PCs. it is really frustrating.
