One good thing for Lois there is she will get to go home soon. he Pennys are going to “sample” her entire inventory. But don’t worry, they aren’t going to buy anything. I’m sure they don’t care, either, that the food demo workers in some stores are paid according to how much product they sell.Leaky, I am so very glad you are back. For me personally but more so for Marg. She really took it hard. She took to sampling the recipe a lot and bringing home strange guys. Welcome back.
They’ll buy the generics or knockoffs as these would appear to be (“Ah-choy” vs. “Lachoy”) so they might actually be auditioning for one of their summer pool soiree’s. Lord knows they each need an extra layer of “insulation” for that first dip in the pool..Marg…..don’t let anyone dissuade you from your dreams (even if they are “induced” episodes and involve acrobats from Cirque de Soleil).
Typical of what you see at COSTCO….. Some of the new offerings are tasty and good…. but be sure to read the labels… BURL should be working on some project and leave the ladies to plan AND shop for food. His being there results in their buying lots of junk food… ! ! !
@Paco, the ketchup is one that I really dislike ever since reading a WSJ article (years ago) about what % of mouse droppings, bug parts etc – and that’s assuming that it is fresh!Even my own marinara is made from scratch (though I don’t have availability of the best tomatoes so I buy Italian tomatoes and tomato paste but cook and puree my own brocalli heads with those tomatoes and use red wine to thin the paste, finish with lots of organic oregano, basil etc. I can still have mine on quinoa pasta (part of breakfast yesterday).
Chinese – Italian is a bad thought. They seem unduanted by the clerk comment that she obviously wouldn’t touch these things no matter what you had for dipping. Just more for them.
@Pipe, at least things like mayo and mustard I can make from scratch. I just baked 2 more batches of almond crackers this morning (and ate the last of the old batch with some unsalted pecan halves). Breakfast was eggwhite omelet with steamed spinach. I sauteed some sweet red pepper and mixed in my turmeric, ginger, cayenne to flavor the egg. I used that spice mix in my low sod V8 too.

The other night I was watching an episode of Cheaters and I could’ve sworn Joey Greco had a tail on you.

Yes, TWO plastic bottles is ever so much more “elegant” than one….
Maybe they could up the elegance level even more, by cleaning out the fridge door…
If you must eat Szechuan pizza rolls, you might as well also have barbecue sauce, tartar sauce and blue cheese dressing.
(Or in the Pennys’ case, “Blu Cheez style dressing.”)
Note to self: Fire Lois.

Neither—they really should invest in that terrifying bright pink sweet & sour sauce, that would be just the condiment they are looking for, I think.

Liven the event with a bowl of chinese hot mustard and a bowl of wasabi next to the guacamole bowl.
