Phone: Anyway, we think you'd be a perfect fit at The Huffington Post, Rick! Rick: And why is that? Phone: Well... Rick: Are you under the impression I'm looking for unpaid work? Phone: Okay, so we don't compensate bloggers, but it'd be great exposure! Rick: Exposure? Can I eat exposure? Can I smoke it? Jeff: Yo, Dad. Should I start a foundation?

Jeff is completely out of touch with the world around him. He’s a legend in his own mind.

I plead guilty. I went most of a week. It’s kind of like road rage. When you have someone who is obviously trying to get you to hit them and you have to hold it in. After the fourth or fifth one, you just gotta blow some steam.

Much in the way it would not make sense to persecute someone who would prosecute those who engage in hate crime, it does not make sense to persecute Richard Russell.

Thank you, I did indeed flag your post. However, I was still twitching and therefore needed to reply to you to tell you that I had done so, also.

I’m not 100% sure, but I think the novel was David Copperfield. David (if that’s who it was) joins a company that doesn’t pay young people, but the good thing, according to another young man working for free, is that “you get to look around.” He’s wasn’t quite sure what he’ was looking for, but at least he could look. Apparently mid-19th Century Britain was a third world country.

Yes, as I mentioned before, GT is on Amazon instant video in a program called alpha house.

Can’t imagine why anyone would flag Richard Russell, unless you misunderstand the purpose of flagging.

If a Repub president was in office with all the scandels, GT would not be on vacation. But all this is just noise to take away the fact that President Obama has allowed Iran the ability to create a nuclear weapon. Check out this weeks Economist.

Come on Sarge, we both know that politics breeds liars. Just because we do not like what one side is doing doesn’t make the other side correct.
Both sides want a line item veto – when the other side gets into power, the other side is sure glad they did not get it. The same for the Patriot Act(doublespeak if I ever heard it). Both sides were for it in 2001, and now we are on our way to a police state – which is not good – no matter who is in power. This is the true nature of American politics, both sides going for tighter controls.

Dear Richard,You seem to be drawing the ire of folks from both sides of the aisle today. Sorry to see that as all you are trying to do is encourage peace and civility, at least for the month of June.“Blessed are the peace-makers.”Yeah, right, but keep up the good effort.

Back to Doonesbury – I think Jeff doesn’t understand what a foundation is. You have to have money to start one and what you collect from others is supposed to benefit others. But then, Jeff doesn’t understand much, like what a real soldier does.

At least 50% of the post here – sometimes 90% – are people ripping those who disagree with each other. No need to throw a stone at RSR.

I am glad to know that hate crimes have such an innocuous meaning where you live.I myself have witnessed attacks against people based on race and religion. Recently, there have been a series of attacks in my community against members of the LGBT community in my city. Maybe, it is a backlash against my state’s passage of same-sex marriage law, or members of the LGBT being more open about who they are. Whatever the reason, I am happy that motive is taken into account into account in prosecuting and punishing the perpetrators of these attacks.

“June is National Do Not Feed the Troll Month!”-but if you announce it before any trollish behavior has occurred, that makes you the troll and it would be wrong to not feed you. So here is a response.-Eat up

“Unpaid internship (wage theft), unique to the USA and other 3rd world countries.”-Nah, apprenticeships for centuries were ones in which the apprentice paid for the chance to work under a master for the benefit of learning his craft.-In fact, though, even in the USA, unpaid apprenticeships are illegal if the apprentice actually does any valuable work.

" Note this is to a Non-Partisan, unaffiliated with any party site. This site calls lies lies from both parties….A Project of The Annenberg Public Policy Center, Factcheck.org"-Please note that nonpartisan simply means not part of or supporting a party, but DOES NOT MEAN UNBIASED.-It may be unbiased, but that is another question. -In fact it would still be nonpartisan if its funding came from others who are members of a party for example, if I as a registered Democrat liked what one group did and donated to it, they might not even know I am a Democrat or that I supported them because I liked their biases over those of others.-(not that I do, but I COULD)

“positive attention is just as nourishing as negative attention, and almost as easy to get.”-for some, yes, for others, no.For some, doing anything positive or showing real thought is just plain HARD.What am I saying? I tend to silently not my head when I agree or don’t care with a statement and only respond if I disagree. -Hmmmm, does this make me negative even if I am trying to make a wrong thing right?-
Similarly, if I agree with someone who is way out there, completely wrong, does it really help to be positive about a wrong thng?-Methinks not.-sometimes methinks not at allsometimes me just playing.

“All I do is correct the record.”-Sorry, but actually, that is not all you do.You frequently “correct” things which were not said yet.-Not that I don’t love you, but you need to see yourself in truth, not in doctored self-image.

Are those citizens, who are not joined to a happy talk class of your multi-culti society…”.I know how you feel; don’cha hate it that white folks aren’t automatically on top of the heap all of the time? What’s this having to “earn it” garbage? Earning a place was what the colored folks and girls and “daffodils” and all of those nasty non-Christian (heck, some might even say “non-Protestant”) low-lifes were supposed to do.Life was so much easier when you could walk down a street anywhere in America and only see White Christians around; all of the lesser people had the good taste to stay out of sight. But nowadays anyone who works hard can get ahead, and have equal rights under the law, and be protected from people who would do them harm just because they are the not just like me.What’s the deal with that?I want to live in a society with no minorities; so what if the food is bland and the music is stuck in the 19th century and there is less art and culture and joy; so what if all of the minorities, who together are a vast majority, are unhappy with their lot?As long as I’ve got mine, whether I deserve it or not, at least I’ll be happy, and the “lesser classes” can just stay out of my way and be grateful for whatever crumbs they can scrounge when I’m finished. If my sarcasm is lost on anyone, you can always flag me, or post a nasty “reply.”
Newshound41 over 11 years ago
Motive is always taken into account not only in defining the crime but also in the punishment. When a white person is attacked for no other reason than being white, he or she is a victim of a hate crime. A hate crime usually has a larger motive: to spread terror in specific community.

I wonder if GT will bring up the recent"whistleblower" fiasco in regard to the NSA. Interesting that Snowden would choose to go to China, Russia and Cuba, those strong protectors of Internet freedom…

From Walter Annenberg’s obituary, the founder of the Annenberg Center:-An imposing figure with a courtly manner, a deep, resonant voice and the formal bearing of a royal chamberlain, Mr. Annenberg was a fervid patriot and Republican whose close friends included Presidents Richard M. Nixon and Ronald Reagan, to whom he gave considerable financial support. His friendship with Mr. Reagan went back to the 1930’s, when Mr. Annenberg was a frequent visitor to Hollywood, and for years the Reagans had a tradition of celebrating New Year’s holidays at Sunnylands, his palatial 240-acre compound in Rancho Mirage, Calif., near Palm Springs, where President Nixon was also a guest at various times.

@John PikeYou have served your country, raised a family, probably gave it all in the jobs you have held. Overcome challenges and rediscovered your faith. More enlightenment comes from a life like that than any book or college course.

Factchecks.org was established by Annenberg Public Policy Center. The Annenberg Public Policy Center was founded by Walter Annenberg.Annenberg was a friend of Richard Nixon and Ronald Reagan. Annenberg donated lot of money to the Republican Party. He was appointed US Ambassador to the UK by Richard Nixon.-What I wrote above are facts. This what you replied to Redkaycel Repoc:-Oh I have looked into them. That is why my comment. Plus a huge clue is if you trust them, they are not non-partisan! So again you are trumped by the facts.-There is not a single fact in your comment. Only thing you have shown is your bias and dislike for RR. You said that if RR trusts a site, they are not non-partisan. That is an opinion, not a fact. You have the right to your opinion but I have never seen you back it up with factual data.-GoComics removed Sarge’s comment to which I originally replied. What he said to RR is included in my comment. I am re-posting this comment by replying to another of Sarge’s comment.
