That’s a grandpa’s job. Children need someone to be a hero in their lives. Grandpa’s are the perfect choice for this. The tales they spin have enough truth in them to sound real to a child.
Anyone who has done any scuba diving knows that sharks are to be respected but not feared. Yes, they are predators and opportunists but most are not man killers. The are by nature inquisitive but not necessarily aggressive. They get a bad rap from ignorant people and from others who should know better. That being said, there is no way I’m going to cuddle up to a Great White, tonight !
Well, if grandpa swan in the ocean at all, he technically did swin with sharks. They may not have been very close, but he swam with them, just like he swam with every other sea creature in the ocean at the time.
I stepped on and caught a shark once. It was down at kolometre 19 sourth of Luanda in the people’s republic of AngolaAn associate from Galveston explained it was a sand shark and they used to catch them to cook and eat on the beach. It was about the size of a small catfishAs Arnold said in Commando, " I let him go."in my case, back into the Atlantic Ocean
One of my favorite stories was telling the grandkids that I lived in a cave when I was small and had a pet dinosaur. Someone also told them that the log sinkers in the pond were alligator snouts.

I was going back to the boad on a dive trip, and a shark made a complete circle around me, checking me out. I just watched him closely.

I also had a shark swim up behind and checked me out at Galapous. I never saw him, but others were very concerned.

For one who can tune Opal out whenever he wants, Earl has a finely developed sense of where she is and what she’s doing.
