See, now there is your problem. You can not enjoy real life. That is just pathetic. Put your devices down occasionally. Hold someone’s hand. Feel the warmth of sunshine, breath fresh air, savor a good wine, enjoy a well cooked meal, kiss a girl, kiss a boy, hold your child, live a life.

If you’re not lighting the fuse, you might as well be watching it on tv.

This joke would have worked in The Dinette Set, too. But Kathy and Roy are more likeable.

Roy, watching them on TV is just not the same. Kathy has patience, I’ll give her that. …In Roy’s defense, some people just don’t get the point of all the fireworks. Someone told me the other day that they think it’s just a waste of money. Well, if you put it that way, everything we buy is a waste of money. If it gives people joy, then the money is well-spent. Some things just don’t have a price tag. Shooting off fireworks with a large group of family? Priceless. …Be safe when shooting off your fireworks, people. Enjoy!

The best time we had watching fireworks was in his car at the shore of Lake Michigan. I don’t like to be close enough to smell the gunpowder or hear the loud bangs. New Years I always try to catch the various displays in time zones.

I think with the wedding I have been pushing them more.
