Least used app in the industry.

That’s almost a “Pluggerism”. “A plugger’s favorite app on his smart phone is the ‘off button’”.;-D

Well, at least one guy isn’t a phoney….It is amazing how many phone calls have to be made all of a sudden……..And how did we ever get by without all those text messages….?

My favorite App is the “don’t buy it app”. I don’t have one, don’t want one, and won’t get one. I refuse to let my life revolve around a cell phone.

I’m still looking for the “undo” app.

But no one USES it!

It is most certainly still available, either as the ready-built version of for the electronic enthusiast, “build-it-yourself” somewhat cheaper using Arduino modules.

What I would like to see is an off button app for people’s mouths!

I’ve seen people sew those types of devices into their zip up hoodies so when they used the zipper the TV would turn off. More discrete that way . . .

I say this about my TV. My favorite network is OFF. My remote also has the Billy Mayes Memorial Button (MUTE).

@ClarkKent; I still have one of those..Brand named “One4All,” a basic-function ‘stick’ that came with a mini-book of codes for TV’s only. The local tavern where we entry-level geezers would have our afternoon quaffs were deafened by the TeeVee tuned to “Jerry Springer” or its ilk, LOUDLY, so the dimbulb beer-maid wouldn’t miss a thing while even on the smoking porch, so you can guess what I/we did. Well, no, maybe you can’t but it involved a lot of “help” from us engineer-types to try to cure the problem as to how the sound would mute every time she drew a certain brand draft beer. Fun times.

Yeah, I hate having a miracle device in my pocket that people 50 years ago dreamed of as “The Future”… instant access to the world’s knowledge and information, instant news, a live satellite map that instantly locates me anywhere in the world, a book library larger than anyone in history, a music library, a cinema, a movie studio, a star constellation map (complete with compass), a scientific calculator, instant weather reports and satellite images, and oh yeah, a telephone. And that’s just scratching the surface.

And all this fits in your pocket and costs a pittance.

How spoiled are modern people… they’re living in the science fiction future and don’t even realize it.

My dad just got an iPhone and that’s his favorite app, too.

I would have loved a turnoff app. yesterday. I had to take a taxi-van from Machala to Guayaquil ( about a 3 hr. drive with traffic ) and sat in the suicide seat ( front passenger ). Ecuadorean taxi drivers are all cowboys and NASCAR racers combined. It’s in their DNA to go as fast as they can, weave in and out and pass vehicles in spots where there is no room and in oncoming traffic. Fine ! I can live with that ( so far ) but when you add into the mix a young driver that we had yesterday, who spent the entire time either texting on one cell phone or dialing and talking on another, let me say my already grey hair got a little whiter. While the ride back ( in the dark ) was somewhat less harrowing, it was the passengers who were annoying, I had to listen to both incessant and loud conversation from two of the men who were constantly on their phone, or the chirping and bells on the woman’s phone as she perpetually texted and sent and received email.I had the driver drop me off by Chili’s – ’nuff said !

It was this redneck twit and her not understanding that we didn’t want to listen to trash TV while we were um..‘philosophizing’ ..yeah, that’s the word. !Cause and effect was that her tips grew when Jerry was at a way lower volume !!

Nairebis, Good comment. I only have a flip phone, but the technology, and the almost instant access to all that knowledge, we have available to us now is darn close to miraculous. Breath taking really….We didn’t get the jet packs or flying cars, but what we did get was much better….Instant knowledge….

A friend had the song I wear sun glasses at night runnin’ in his head. I’d never heard of it and he couldn’t remember where he heard it. In the time it took me to type it, I had access to two videos, the the complete lyrics…and the history of the band….Took less than ten seconds…

@Varnes: yeah, I like phoney; I can get the same info on my computer w/o holding up traffic, or irritating anyone else; my cell phone is for Emergency use only and has NO apps.

Of late that seems to be my second most used app for the TV ……the first is MUTE
