Homer's past life review continues. Homer: My solution to cross the river wasn't working too well... Duncan: Says the master of understatement. Bert: Now now, Duncan. The mountain snowmelt was rapid that year, making the river run wild... But eventually it all worked out... ...Except for being lost. So I left Duncan to guard the sheep while I went for help. Homer: Stay away from the wolf-infested woods. Duncan: Duh. At least I knew things couldn't get any worse... To be explosively continued.

Yeah, killed everybody except that family that Dr.Who (or is it Whom) saved in the TARDIS.

All along, I’ve been half expecting a sheep or two to be accidentally launched by the trebuchet, only to lodge in Mt. Vesuvius and cause a blockage resulting in the eruption. Super silly, I know.

Or an earthquake, which is more likely.

When will we get a continuation of the story arc that paused (?) on Sept. 21?
WCLamb about 11 years ago
@Arianne -That’s a catapult, not a trebuchet, Actually, more like a LAMBapult, but why get that picky.

Do the lost know where to find help?
alfracto about 11 years ago
In panel two Duncan looks like he was enjoying the trip across the river quite well. What’s with the panel one complaint?
jarnhond about 11 years ago
Technically you were right the first time. A catapult is a torsion powered device while a trebuchet is powered by a counter weight.

Getting snuffed by heat and ash, not a fun way to go but at least it’s quick.

You NEVER, EVER, EVER, EVER, but NEVER say “What else could happen” or “It couldn’t get any worse” or “What next?” You will inevitably find out; oh, yes it can; and you will inevitably find out. And you won’t like any of it!

Is this a backdoor pilot for a new strip? It’s getting old fast.

Wiley – many thanks for bringing Homer (and pooch) back – we always pick out what we think will be cool, but it never turns out to be what we thought. I think you bring that satire out well. I really missed Homer’s misadventures!!

If hes lost, how does he know the woods are full of wolves?
