Is the Witherspoon closing a preemptory precaution or have the teachers already been turned? Don’t jump for joy too quickly, Lio! Do you think your zombie pal whom you’ve been feeding will save you from the Zombie Apocalypse?
One thing I can’t understand. If school is such a terrible experience, wasting time and potential, why is it permitted to continue? Why do the adults who themselves suffered for so many years not do something to put a stop to it in its current form?
I was in 6th grade when Hurricane Gloria hit New England. Most of the kids I knew were excited about it – not because of the hurricane, but because it happened on a Friday. We got the day off from school, making it a three-day weekend. (Actually turned into a four-day weekend, as we also got the following Monday off.)
By the way, am I the only one who looks up the Spanish version of Lio on days like today, just to see how to say things like “zombie apocalypse” in Spanish?

People think that the coming Zombie Apocalypse is a joke, but some day it’s really going to happen. They won’t be laughing then.

The hard part of the Zombie Apocalypse is pretending I’m not excited.

But the most important thing is that school is closed.

Might as well have the school closed—that place tends to make mini zombies…and who wants that?
