Gene: So you're telling me we're doing it right?
If the critters are stealing too many things, snap a clamshell around a growing tomato or apple on the tree, the kind that produce comes from the grocery store in—with airholes already built in for drainage in case of rain.
Strange weather this year in the south. My 80 year old father has enjoyed magnificent tomato production for 50 straight years, but this year the combination of wet and cool weather in Tennessee wiped out his crop.

I can relate. Although I like the tomatoes from my own garden, I really have never gotten my money out of them for one reason or another.
