While I love Samson’s animations, I will have to admit, I don’t understand this joke. Is the device a generator,or engine? And does “****” mean the same as “ahem”? I guess the missing panel is how the asterisks get from the balloon to the machine.

If Horace was working on the machine, and amongst all the parts of the machine we saw a void where an asterisk would work as a gear, and then Horace cusses in frustration (@#*$%!), from which he removes the asterisk, and now the machine is working, that would be a good joke.

I went to bend and broke something. Getting old’s a bear… :-)

I don’t quite get it, either. The machine looks kind of like a vaulting horse, and he’s a horse….?
