It is the waste product of a microorganism.

It’s like driving on a parkway and parking on a driveway.

It’s the dosage that makes the poison.

Alcohol is actually beneficial to health. Studies show even drunks have longer life expectancy than teetotalers.

Although I am abstaining during this year as a vegetarian, I enjoy sipping some drinks and although I know it IS a poison, so are all proscription medications; I was chatting in the dentist’s office last week about my decision NOT to have a face lift because they required me to take BP medicine to be assured it would be normal throughout the procedure and I WILL NOT take any poison that does not taste good. I make all my foods as healthy as possible and figure that -

Even when I RETURN to eating some meat and cheese, it will be less often than before (and likewise, my gin or margaritas or whatever).

As to the question, If you ARE going to consume it in spite of possible detriment (and I am) and you are counting calories for the sake of body appearance or whatever other reason to lose weight, then you must count THOSE calories along with all others. In my food preparation, I take into consideration including as many tasty and nutritious things as I can in any given dish because it is for myself (or others I care for) NOT for a bottom line (prepared food in stores or restaurants).
