Quill’s face is never very expressive with the way he’s drawn, but even so his face seems to be suggesting he’s gonna actually say something she wants to hear. And soon.-Plus, my Magic 8 Ball totes agrees, and also, gimme one of them wraps before the maggots set in, Quill.

This confrontation was pretty much inevitable. There really hasn’t been that much affection between these two, just infatuation. Their attraction to each other has never gone much beyond the hormonal level. Theirs has been a rather shallow relationship.

Teenage girl problems. I’d like to say they get less crazy as they get older, but more often than not, that is untrue.

Luann is just expressing her feelings, it’s called communication. Not sure why that bothers anyone. Quill will get a chance to talk too.

Luann please see the big picture. Quill has stated he is aiming for a career in the theater and he is doing the right things so far. Luann still doesn’t know what she wants to do with her life. Still think Quill will hit it big time and not take Luann with him – for some reason or the other.

TORAD_07 about 11 years ago
I’m still waiting to get wind of Greg’s/Karen’s longer term direction for Lu, and whether or not Gunther is still part of that. If he is, then it doesn’t matter what happens in between… Gunther and Lu will end up together, eventually.
If Gunther is not part of the long term plan, then all bets are off. I don’t know what may happen, but I wouldn’t lose sleep if Quill turns out not to be “the one.” Perhaps, she’ll find someone at Pitts CC, or some other place. We’ll have to see.
Still, I do agree that Lu has a bit of maturing to do if she’s going to maintain a successful relationship. Hopefully, she’ll learn that lesson quickly and without much pain.
seismic-2 Premium Member about 11 years ago
Maybe the “Luann as a whiney, demanding, selfish teenager” aspect to the strip is due to Karen, who has first-hand observational knowledge of teenage girls and their romances.

seismic-2 Premium Member about 11 years ago
People do indeed disappear rapidly, don’t they? Quill had better be careful. Luann may wish him into the cornfield.
PMark about 11 years ago
Here is a thought. Instead of Luann losing yet another boyfriend through the actions of others (their parents moving away, Tiffany’s machinations, etc.), perhaps now Luann is going to lose a boyfriend because of actions of her own.

>Still curious about these unreasonable demands Luann is making. That they actually spend time together once in a while? >Isn’t that just as much her fault as it is his? If Luann hasn’t been spending time with Quill, isn’t that due to her own conflicts with job etc.? (I doubt that it is due to her spending all night studying!) And since she’s so concerned about holidays, whose idea was it for her not to hurry back from Aunt Vicki’s to be with Quill but instead to stretch out their time apart by a whole week so that she could visit colleges (that she won’t attend after all)? If it was OK for Luann to put her “relationship” on the back burner for that, then why is it wrong for Quill to go do something after Christmas that will further his acting career (and that unlike Luann’s college visits, will actually be put to good use)?
Alan Steenhouwer about 11 years ago

Quill is only going to be working at Moony Uni, and just for the holidays. He hasn’t committed himself to go there as a student (after he graduates from his third senior year of high school, that is). Maybe by working there on the holiday show, he will find that he doesn’t like the place.

We all know what’s going to happen Monday, right? We find out that Tiffany’s at Mooney U herself to help decorate, Quill will talk about his spat with Luann, Tiffany will move in for the kill, steal Quill away from Luann and Luann will whine and cry to Delta and Bernice about it, who will once again tell her to shut up, grow up and move on.
Meanwhile, Gunther and Rosa will break up because of Rosa’s ambitions to go to an Ivy League School, Lester Knox will beat the stuffing out of Gunther, steal Rosa away from him and when Luann whines and cries to Gunther about Tiffany stealing Quill away from Luann he’ll tell her that it serves her right for thinking about boys more like Aaron Hill, Ben York and Quill rather than boys like him.
Then everyone (Delta, Bernice, Mrs. Horner, Frank, Nancy, Brad and Nancy) will move in for the kill and force Luann and Gunther to be a couple, and Luann will be hopeless locked into a loveless, miserable, sexually unsatisfying marriage with Gunther where they’ll both be in dead-end jobs (Luann as a waitress because you can bet there’s no famous actors who went to community college) and Gunther’s flipping burgers at the same diner, they’ll become ugly, fat and dumpy and have equally fat, ugly, dumpy kids who will get bullied at in school. and Luann will resort to having affairs on the side to satisfy her sexual cravings.
Meanwhile, Tiffany will dump Quill like yesterday’s news, sneak off to Hawaii, marry Aaron Hill, become a famous actress/model and will have affairs on the side herself. . .and one of those affairs will be with Quill.
Finally at their graduating class’ 20th anniversary reunion, Luann and Aaron Hill will meet, find out what’s been happening in their lives, remember the good times they had together, regret not getting closer to each other and finally scream in unison “WE SHOULD HAVE GOTTEN TOGETHER WHEN WE HAD THE CHANCE!”before Tiffany steals Aaron Hill away from Luann. . .this time FOREVER!
Do you really want that future, Luann, or do you want to be happy?
You have a right to be happy, Luann, and only Aaron Hill can give you that happiness.
You heard me. . .Aaron Hill. Not that jerk Quill.
It is NOT TOO LATE for you to run away to Hawaii, reunite with Aaron Hill, run away with him to Mexico, get married and have a bazillion kids so you can live happily ever after.
The thing is, all the other people in Luann’s life are only happy if Luann’s miserable. It seems they feel that Luann shouldn’t have a right to be happy—her family, her friends, her teachers, her enemies, etc. But Luann DOES have a right to be happy.
I DEMAND that Greg Evans bring back Aaron Hill to Luann and have a happy reunion between him and Luann. It’s God’s holy will that these two be together forever, or else the Universe will collapse on itself.
DO IT, LUANN! YOU DESERVE TO BE HAPPY!
LUANN AND AARON HILL WERE MEANT TO BE TOGETHER FOREVER!
seismic-2 Premium Member about 11 years ago
Since no one eats at the food truck any more, I’d say getting someone to take his place there is the least of Quill’s problems.
JayBluE about 11 years ago
Why do people want to see Aaron? I’m not saying he was a jerk or anything, but there’s a reason why he’s M.I.A., right now…. Aaron was a former staple, and all…..but he’s “gone, daddy, gone!”… – The Aaron you’d get now, would have to be seriously upgraded…. people forget that he was a very flaky person, after a while… he was almost Tiffanylike in some ways… the only reason that he was memorable, was because the old Luann kept his name going for so long… but that was the old Luann, and she has since moved on….. at least on from him…
docforbin about 11 years ago
I’m sick and tired of people saying Luann has to “move on” like Delta and Bernice want her to. Do you know what moving on means? Moving on is an admission of defeat. Moving on is a sign of weakness. Moving on means having to settle for second best, and in Luann’s case second best means having to settle for Gunther, a loser geek nerd who will NEVER AMOUNT TO ANYTHING!
In other words, moving on is for LOSERS!
Do you know why Tiffany is a winner? Because REAL winners like Tiffany do what they want and continue to pursue their goals no matter what the cost, and that means lying, cheating, stealing, conniving and backstabbing. . .all things Tiffany is VERY good at.
If Luann wants to be a winner, she should beat Tiffany up to a bloody pulp, tell off Quill for the jerk he is, then run away to Hawaii and reunite with Aaron Hill, who is the ONLY person who can give Luann the happiness she’s been seeking all her life.
docforbin about 11 years ago
And if doing what she wants means Luann will be viewed as selfish and immature by Delta, Bernice, Frank, Nancy, Brad, Toni, Mrs. Horner, Mr. Fogarty, Miss Phelps, etc., then TOUGH! In the end they’re not to the boss of Luann.
JayBluE about 11 years ago

JayBluE about 11 years ago
Well, the “School keeps them apart” remark was meant to allude to what Argy referred to, in being so busy with schoolwork that they don’t have the time to cuddle and be together romantically… – It was inferred in his statements upon preparing to work/learn here, that he would be attending Pitts HS… but we haven’t really seen him specifically attending classes… To be honest, I don’t think that his character was meant to deal with the “school wildlife”… only to be a love interest for Luann that happens to go there, or so we’re told…
David Huie Green LoveJoyAndPeace about 11 years ago
Luann,As I explained to my two beloved sons, “Life ain’t fair. Accept the fact.”
docforbin about 11 years ago
As I said, Tiffany refuses to move on and does what she wants, which is why she always succeeded in stealing Aaron Hill away from Luann and why she WILL succeed in stealing Quill away from Luann as well.
Also, Luann should have stuck to her guns and insisted on going to Julliard, which would practically guarantee a successful acting career for her. Odds are Tiffany and/or Rosa will wind up going to Julliard if they get the right connections. When a big-shot director looks at the resumes of Luann, Tiffany and Rosa, he’s going to go for the actresses who went to Julliard and not the actress who went to a rinky-dink community college.
Bluntly, people like Frank, Nancy, Brad, Delta, Bernice, Mr. Fogarty, Miss Phelps and Mrs. Horner won’t be happy unless Luann is miserable much like Sgt. Snorkel isn’t happy unless he has Beetle Bailey doing the miserable grunt work that fat moron should be doing himself.

Luann, Don’t have such a Hissy Fit!!! Although Why Quill wants to go to a small-town school for drama is beyond me….Also, Why does said school offer such a “prestigious” drama program?! Its in Podunkville! I suppose this has already been discussed to the state of being nauseous, but I’ve not been on my nasty computer lately, and thought I’d join the fray, if only to pop in and follow what’s been going on in Luann’s Universe… ;)
docforbin about 11 years ago
Another thing: Luann should have stuck to her guns about letting Quill stay in Brad’s old room; that way he could have been kept out of the evil, jealous clutches of Tiffany and prevent what will be an awkward moment when she loses Quill to Tiffany and Gunther loses Rosa to Lester Knox when she has to visit Quill at Gunther’s house and confront him about Tiffany stealing Quill away from him and Gunther will blow a fuse and tell Luann that she’s getting what she deserves for chasing pretty boys like Quill instead of boys like him.
seismic-2 Premium Member about 11 years ago
Quite right – even though Tiffany’s attendance at the camp was “sponsored” (we were never told by whom), that doesn’t mean that she wouldn’t have been selected to attend had she not been sponsored. And to get the lead in “George” she did have to audition, and Mrs. Manezone judged her to be better for the role than the other female campers. Tiffany’s sponsorship wouldn’t have covered that. Then in the performance, the DeGroots were impressed by how realistic Tiffany’s performance was, in the romantic scenes with Quill.
