I agree, purple., though words don’t actually fail so much as you can’t use the real ones because that would be the end of you on this site. How about some of those stones for stoning at a penny—pun intended! Sounds useful and I’ll chip in a dollar.

Stray cats for a nickel? Now you have to pay about 25 bucks, to cover their shots, spaying etc.

Give thanks for plastic… right, Joy. It’s how you’ll pay for all this junk.

That genyoo-wine1840’s Kool-Aid pitcher would give your home a little warm touch of antiick-kew-ity.

    And it’s half off!

The Do not touch sign went up when they saw them get out of their car…

They are thankful for the dollar dump and other cheaper stores. Wait till they get to the cafeteria and pay for what they get.. Good way to start a diet.

They must be traveling out east today. Are the rocks 1 cent each? It appears they are half off? Burl would buy all he could carry for a deal like that.

……thankful for, among other things, that they probably have little or no grasp of what “a buck-fifty” meant for folks in 1842. The Pennys’ ignorance is, for them, indeed bliss!!

Every so often I come across lists (such as prices from the times when I was young) and I remember that a loaf of bread was much less (but it was mostly white flour but still a firmer loaf than now) and no bread was pre-sliced. Cost of living (and wages) were all far less, but there were fewer choices and tropical fruit was seldom seen.

Really, we have so much more choice now that it is our own faults if we eat like the Penny’s (and many do).
