When the weather is like this, I put my soup pot in the back of the car. Keeps it cold, doesn’t take up scarce space in the fridge, and the raccoons can’t get to it.
I made a pot Friday. Then put it in the garage overnight so all the fat can be lifted out the next day. Had a bit of it yesterday. Yes, lots of meat in it.
We made cioppino last night with the grill and the stew pot. First used the grill briefly as a smoker for tomatoes, fish and shrimp, added them to a pot with shrimp stock, white wine, clams and garlic. Grilled garlic bread to dip in the cioppino. Delish!
Arlo’s half right; I made stew Friday for yesterday’s dinner (like chili, stew needs at least 2 days simmering), and the weather is perfect for it. But tonight I plan to shovel a path to the grill; the fire taste seems more intense when the ambiant temp is single digits. All seasons are grill season!

Yuck, stew! I always pick the meat out and just eat that. Though, I love some chili this time of year.

My thoughts exactly. Winter is perfect for some good hot chili. By hot I mean spicy hot. yum.

Luddy will rub on Arlo’s leg for some in his food dish..

I believe Arlo has a track record of over cooking, quantity-wise. But most things you cook in big pots “freezes wonderfully”, as the foodies say.

@Dani Rice … Your idea is brilliant! I never thought of putting food in the car. No kidding. I’ll try to remember it.

What is this, “too cold to grill?” There’s no such thing. I grill year round, including at least once in a snowstorm.
