Yeah, he “chose” not to join the military….He had 3 forged letters with different medical excuses…. but he got drafted anyway. then the Army got an actual look at him, and “chose” not to let him in.
A co-worker tried to get me to try one of those fake military basic training style exercise clubs to get himself a discount. He had not served and I had in the army. I explained to him why not and If it was fun it wasn’t real and he would get himself hurt. He wound up with shoulder surgery.
Burl irks me on so many levels, but today he takes the cake, and Joy is no flippin’ prize, either. In the end he chose not to, eh? Well, his having a choice in the matter is debatable, but ‘in the end’ we’re good and lucky he didn’t!
LOL @Drew, I did not notice -good catch! I’m sure Julie did that purposely just to further illustrate his stupidity!
@Purple, We are lucky that he is not one of those defending our liberties (whether or not of his own choice).@LovesLife, we ALL have some relations or friends who can be occasionally embarrassing; it’s just that the Penny’s ALWAYS are!
And (from yesterday) @Pipe, I also find it difficult to completely let go of my resentment and forgive (and he has received his reward in death) but continues to be my example of a sociopath. I forgive to the extent I can without an apology and keep it out of my mind most of the time. I live my own life as happy and generously as I can and am grateful that I did not NEED what would have been mine.
reminds me of something kids do….you know, when they think they’ll get into the service when they’re older so thy feel cool saluting anyone in uniform because they feel a connection. O.K for kids. Like Burl. Who, in the end, “chose” not to join. And I “chose” to not make claim on my winning Powerball ticket. Happens ALL the time! And it DON’T rain in Indianapolis in the summertime!!
I just got an email saying that Big Lots is now the official Hostess Twinkie and Ding Dong outlet. I understand the store in Crustwood was mobbed this morning with lots of collateral damage. They broke the door down at 6am, and the clerks are in tears. Pictures at 11!

Actually the Army said “no thanks”. He failed basic training, and the only thing he passed was Mess Hall.

I think Susan got it right. The Army could have used him for a target but they wanted something smaller.

No he salutes the guard because he wants everyone to see how stupid he is. I would NOT go anywhere with them. So embarrassing aren’t they!

Doesn’t a left-handed salute have some specific meaning? I suspect it’s a no-no.

Looks like Burl’s butt saluted as his pants seem to have a split in them.
