Gracie: I can't believe school ends in three months! Gracie: Sometimes I wish it would never end. Gracie: But I guess endings make you appreciate the present. Nora: I appreciate lunchtime.
It seems to me the English translation is missing what seems to be a play on words — wouldn’t the final frame be referring to “finals” (as in final exams), not endings? That would make it funnier.
I have to agree with Gracie. I’d much rather I was still in school. Life was so much simpler then. No bills. No worries about job security. All you had to do was wake up, go to school, get home after 3:00 and watch TV, and a little homework. That was the life.
