One winter years ago we lost power. Our section was the last one brought back on. A number of our neighbors were elderly. My husband pulled our charcoal grill out, and we always had a pan of beef stew and kettle of water (for coffee, tea, or cocoa) on for our neighbors. 3 days later we finally got our power back.

Whenever I try this, the chocolate falls between the grill and puts the coals out. I must be doing something wrong.

Marshmallows? In hot chocolate? This must be an American thing.

People barbecue the darndest things….In the big power outage in 2003, hubby tried barbecuing liver and onions. Would have made great boot soles.

I always joke that in Kansas City we put barbecue sauce in our orange juice.

At least Linus didn’t try using a brown crayon as if it’s a tea bag.
