Ripley's Believe It or Not! OUI! Something new from... Jules Verne!? Jules Verne's novel, "Paris In The 20th Century," was published in 1994 -- 130 years after it was written -- after being found in a safe. The earliest known horses, which appeared 50 million years ago, were the size of small dogs! Cockroaches have extra teeth in their stomachs.

It would have been difficult to go horseback riding 50 million years ago. The saddle had not yet been invented.

I saw a brief description of Paris in the 20th Century on Wikipedia. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paris_in_the_20th_century Verne was disturbingly perceptive.
