In one of the early treasuries, Pastis tells a story involving his best friend Emilio, who asks that particular question in a bar, and why often there are mocked characters named Emilio.

Whatsa matter, Cartoon-Boy? Racked with guilt? The rather suggestible young woman seems quite satisfied as she dozes on your shoulder. How do you feel? Maybe you should be on the lookout for a vengeful Cartoon-Watterson if he’s heard you’re using his name for questionable purposes….

Is it wrong to apply drag as lift by clever application of an aggressive angle and thus fly. I don’t think so. And as long as you keep moving fast enough, you won’t stall out an fall.

I think the look in the end panel is not remorse but surprise that this worked.

It’s rare that a comic makes me laugh out loud, but this one did. OUTSTANDING!

Any Calvin & Hobbes fan would know Pastis is not Watterson. Watterson is about 10 years older, thin, and shuns publicity. Watterson is serious about art; Pastis can barely cartoon.
