Transcript:
Danae: To-morrow! To-morrow! I'll love ya tomorrow... which proves my thesis that what they think is adorable in musicals gets you grounded in real life. Lucy: It also proves this house has really low ceilings.
when my sister was a teen, every time she’d kiss her boyfriend our kid brother would say, “eeww, porno!” funny how he never did that to me. (and people say violence never solves anything.)
My younger sisters loved that song when they were small, unfortunately they only really knew the line that Danae sings. The endless repeating of “Tomorrow, tomorrow! I’ll love you, tomorrow!”, was also less than adorable.
Thank you, cranberry3, but I guess you missed my posts over the past few days. It’s been 10 years with Universal Uclick. Non Sequitur celebrates 18 years on the 16th, as it started with another syndicate in 1992.
I Did It My Way
New York New York
Walking My Gargoyle (only because of her personality - it’s not a “big” number)
There’s No Business Like Show Business
Copacabana
this strip was run in our local newspaper with the last 2 panels UNDER the first 2–
it gave the appearance of going through the roof into panel one….
…of course, it didnt help that they had reduced it to the size of a postage stamp, as usual
Non Sequitur is made available to newspapers in both the strip format and panel format. Unfortunately, we have no control over how small they print the cartoons. All too many newspapers print cartoons in the panel dimension far below the minimum standard size. This not only shows a lack of respect for the art form (which helps keep them in business more than any other aspect of the newspaper), it also shows a lack of respect for their readers.
But if you don’t let them know you’re upset about this, how will they know? They equate silence by the readers as acceptance.
Are we sure that Danae is not channeling Bucky Katt?
Who knew she had issues with musicals? OK, early the next morning Vicky wakes up Danae with an air horn…another hole in the ceiling…Seriously, I wouldn’t put ti past her….
Wiley - NO, newspapers ignore their readers just as much as they disregard other parts of popular opinion ;-( That’s why they are all failing. The vote should go back to being limited to productive members of society IMNHO!! If all the papers fail and we have to pay for our cartoons, I’d be willing even with my now modest means as a senior. I USED to support PBS before thaey became left-wing lackeys! I still watch the occaisional “Masterpiece” that they buy from the BBC.
Did Joe and Vicki…oops, sorry, Victoria…also check the windows? If they do, they’d better watch out for the broken glass.
I really wonder about Victoria’s judgment. Before deciding to join this loony bin, shouldn’t she have read the front door mat? I believe it reads: Abandon hope all ye who enter here.
There is a universal assumption, made by everyone on the planet (and beyond?) that absence of complaints about (whatever) is identical to “(whatever) is just fine.”

Hey at least it wasn’t accompanied by a full orchestra. (That’s something isn’t it?)

Scared of that! Oh my gosh! Laugh out loud!
Justice22, Thanks for the information on Monday. It sounds like the stainless steal cleaner would really have ruined the flavor of my Fruit Loops too.

I figured it just meant that when you pay big bucks for it, it’s adorable, but when it’s free, not so much.

Danae and her father fill me with contempt.
pearlandpeach almost 15 years ago
Danae did pick one, if not, the Best Singer… could have been worse.
vexatron1984 almost 15 years ago
Sorry to hear that Habanero, they fill me with mirth!
Maybe adding a tap dance routine will make it cuter Danae.

When I sing Broadway, my girlfriend throws pots and pans for percussion, hoping to give me a concussion.

I’m surprised she picked that song!

As an adult, I’m a firm believer that children should not be seen nor heard.

Danae’s just pushing the envelope….
fredbuhl almost 15 years ago
Envelope? She don’t need no stinkin’ envelope.
Wildmustang1262 almost 15 years ago
Does Danae sing like Annie in Broadway and film etc with that song? She should wear orange wig like Carrot Top (or whatever the comedian’s name?).
marianthelibrarian almost 15 years ago
Keep up the good (no great) work for at least another 10.
Trebor39 almost 15 years ago
Wildmustang1262, that is Carrot Top with a Danae wig on.

And today it seems that the envelope pushed back.

I threatened to stop home delivery when they took Cathy out of her home town newspaper – fell on deaf ears. Now they’re going under – tough.
