Well, considering that white glue, such as Elmer’s, really is made from the casein in milk, this cartoon used the wrong glue.

The one giving the eulogy seems to have a knacker for it.

I guess this solves the problem of burying someone alive.

I guess she will be sticking around for awhile.

Those who do not want to come to the same end as Vivian will want to hoof it out of there quickly.

By George, do you think Vivian could glue the animal farm back together again?

Jack Garrott: Polyvinyl chloride is casein? I thought it was a petrochemical. Casein was the old powder, mix with water, wait 20 minutes, then use. I don’t know many people old enough to remember casein glue, much less have used it.

Hippogriff…. Elmer’s glue was once a ready-to-use casein glue… possibly still casein in the 40’s … not that I used glue in the 40’s ..But in the late 1970’s I used casein glue that came in a paint can, applied with a brush over fiberglass “fabric” to repair a boat roof.

The name sounded something like “aerobol” but I can’t spell it so can’t find it on Google.

A friend with dairy allergies couldn’t get it on her skin without problems.

SusanSunshine: I did use it through the ‘40s, after I graduated from flour/water “library paste” and before the formaldehyde/resin (still used in plywood) came in. However, I do remember a premixed Elmer’s casein product, but not very well.
