As Gallagher once said, there’s a knob marked “brightness” but it don’t work.

People who regularly watch television are a perfect fit for Einstein’s definition of insanity:-Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.-You complain and complain, but keep bowing to the tube.-We haven’t had cable or antenna for four years or so and we don’t miss it…not even the kids. Try it. You may discover you have a family to enjoy; and the money saved doesn’t hurt either.

Hundreds of movies that I’ve either seen or don’t care to see. Mostly the latter. TCM has some good ones sometimes.

The problem with literal understanding is that religious liter thinking—which is cracked—has influenced the use of such though. Instead, just use the head and not the obsolete literal crutch.

You want intelligence and stimulation on TV? Easy enough. Stop watching reality shows and such and switch to PBS, or BBC America — or even put on Comedy channel to catch “The Colbert Report”. You’ll feel your IQ go up a point for every minute you watch.

“I’d settle for TV…”Don’t turn it on; or better yet, unplug it!

Oh so true. That’s why my favorite network is OFF.

Is it college football season yet? I’ll have to turn on the TV to see if it still works.

As the TV sets get better, the programs get worse.

Mencken had it right, was then, is now. Maybe more, with the edumication revision we’ve had since Gov. Reagan dumped on the CA schools and closed (or just gutted) the state hospitals. Later he got to do the country. So now the schools in ‘the wrong side of town’ are a railroad into the prison system where the kids get to meet the ex-clients of Fairview (SoCal) who are at least, where they are under ‘some’ control, but not treated for whatever’s wrong. It’s not just here, private prisons across the country are Big Business, ensured profit.

Television was supposed to entertain, educate, show us current events, broaden our perspectives. Someplace like PBS (between commercials, it’s what they are) NOVA, the new COSMOS series, or a few other places, there IS intelligent life out there.

Go boldly out there, me mateys, in search of lore! More valuable than diamonds, it is! (Never know when we may NEED to know how to make goat cheese.)
