Way back in the middle of the previous century, I was flying on Southern Airlines (does that tell you how long ago it was?). I had boarded early and one of the last people on the plane was a woman whose seat was next to mine.
We hit some turbulence and she grabbed hold of my arm. She was clearly terrified of flying. I did my best to assure her that although the ride was bumpy, it was safe and everything would be OK.
As we got up to leave she apologized and I said it was OK. She asked me, “You were so calm; do you fly a lot?” As I donned my Air Force jacket with the pilot’s wings I told her, “Just about every day.”
I miss those old airlines: Southern, Mohawk, Allegheny, Ozark …

He’s not going to be very comfortable out there on the wing at 36,000 feet…
