We pay property tax so the city can hire a compliance officer to fine us for violating its stupid rules on how to use private property.

@Carl They are stupid rules until, for example. your neighbor draws enough water from the ground that causes a sink hole that spreads to your property or starts a roach farm next door.

We boys (there were 3 of us) rarely had to be told to mow the lawn, weed eat or trim the hedges.
