“Most people would be shocked to find that bottled water is more expensive than the gas they put in their cars.”
It is also unhealthier than tap water. Bottled water is highly acidic. Just plain water is 7.0 ph. Bottled water is about 5.7-6.0. To be healthy, your body ph level should be about 7.2.
Thanks for mentioning this. I doubt many theater goers are aware all the ticket revenue goes back to the movie distributors and the only local revenue generated is through the sale of candy, popcorn, sodas, etc..It may be expensive; but, a movie night out is still one of the least expensive treats you can give yourself.
Yes, that’s true. BUT, if you’d ever tasted the tap water that most US citizens now ‘enjoy’, as it flows through antiquated pipes filled with corrosion and years of inflow of pollutants percolating through soil that leaks into those pipes, you’d understand why many prefer bottled water. When they can afford it….
Several local Theaters rent out on Sunday mornings to small congregations to hold services. Also ‘host’ special presentatins on less-busy nights. Not sure how much they “Make” but every little bit helps as you correctly pointed out!
I haven’t been to a theater in YEARS!!!!! Too much NOISE these days Yakking, cell phones; just RUDE!!!!! When I was a kid it was either a nickel or a dime to get in, a NICKEL for popcorn OR candy! And, if ANYONE created a fuss ( loud talking, or ANY diversion ) they kicked out!!!! Smoking, unfortunately, was allowed!!!
You should all research and consider what used to be called dollar theaters (now still a good deal at $2-3). Second run movies, but you get to see them on the big screen with an audience, as they were intended to be seen.
Depatie-Freleng, best known as the animation studio that did the Pink Panther cartoons, did some cartoons that featured “The Dogfather.” They also did “Misterjaws.” In a way, both series are represented on the posters in this strip.
