OMG!! My freshman year I NEVER had that much crap! Of course by my junior year I could fill a Uhaul! LOL. Dorm rooms are too damn tiny.

Of course, these student are local, so they can move all their possessions into the dorm, making multiple trips by car. The students who have to arrive by plane are far more limited in what they can bring.

College is a no parents zone!

It’s tough doing it on your own, Bernice and Luann. Most kids employ their parents as moving-in help. Tiffany, on the other hand, is still friendly with Oxford, I’m glad to see, and he has brought along several of his hunky football teammates to help her move in (and it’s a good thing she’s in a suite, with all that stuff)!

I am wondering what the nickname is for Moony’s sports teams— Lunas?

Moony U must have very low standards for Tiff to get in. I can’t imagine how an airhead like her got very good grades in school——-not to mention her SAT score.

Well at least at McNeese help is freely given by a ministry for this situation.

Tiff may actually go far in college. She is smarter than people give her credit.

Memories of my daughter going to college. We arrived with a small U-Haul trailer!! Way too much stuff. The following years, we laughed at how you could spot the freshmen as they were the ones with waaay tooo much stuff. If you couldn’t haul it in the back of an SUV, you had too much.

Now that Luann has done her beast-of-burden duty, she and Bernice can stop being such close friends. It’s time for both of them to meet new best friends, at their respective educational institutions.

At my son’s university, they provide volunteer movers (upperclassmen) for all Freshmen, so the move in is pretty effortless.

What is Tiff doing at the university? Don’t tell me her grades were good enough for admittance!

If Knute can graduate from Pitt HS, then the grades there don’t really mean much of anything anyway. The Fogarty-type teachers probably give their failing students a “C” just to get rid of them.

Just learned about the huge earthquake near San Francisco. Hope all the commenters from there are all right. If you have stories to share, we’d love to hear them.

Glad you are safe. My mom lived in the Bay area for a while and was living there during the Northridge quake.

Thanks, we are all safe. Sacramento barely felt anything at all. The earthquake in the Bay area was the 1989 Loma Prieta earthquake. The Northridge quake was in the Los Angeles area.

Thanks… Yeah, mom was living in the Bay area during the Northridge quake, but had close friends in Orange County. All were Ok, though.

If they don’t get into college somewhere, then Ox and his teammates can in any case get jobs delivering furniture, clearly.
