I apologize Wiley. You are a truly great cartoonist and I should have thanked you for all 216 months of strips instead of only 210 months.

BTW - About how long is it between when you produce a strip or panel and when it is published?

maybe he decided to repent because the bottle is empty. why repent when there’s liquor in the bottle?

That’s funny…now a days I’d say it was the guys in the suits crying repentance. They knocked on my door just a little while ago…didn’t remind me to post a blog, but I did have a desire to finally clean the bathroom.

twinsnake_coatl & Dogsniff – perhaps there is very little difference between the rantings of a person on a soap box on a street who is deemed crazy by those who pass as compared to the rantings of a person on his computer blog space who is deemed insightful

Actually, from the pov of a religious zealot, they see most other people as the smelly zealot on the soapbox and they see themselves as reminding themselves to get back to their blog so they can educate the ignorant masses on how great their religious opinions are compared to the ramblings of a smelly secularist.

Well, Doc. You can choose to only look at the negative side of things if you wish. However…

I say the internet has provided us worldwide access to what has become the world’s largest free library. Yes, there’s good and bad but the benefits have been tremendous. And like any great innovation, such as radio, telephone or television we will learn, adapt and adjust.

And Wiley is a bit behind the times on this one. After all, anyone who’s anyone doesn’t blog. They “tweet”. ;-)

I think I’d rather deal with the hairy zealot. Living in Utah I get regular visits from the suited zealots asking for money. At least the hairy one doesn’t have his hand out–yet.

Plus4, I think that IS the point, though I didn’t get it right away either. I would never have a blog (my opinions are scatted all around -at cartoon sites and comments on some online news) -surprizing how easy it was to find them recently when I tried a Google of this and my SCA name.

LuvH8- I had to go back and check. Very good points- 2 of them with my responses:

“Mr Doty Being agnostic has nothing to do with being without knowledge. There are people in every belief system that are without knowledge, and even more without wisdom.” I agree, because I have been very disappointed in “organized religion” in spite of extensive studies.

“ronaldmundy - I don’t want a service, maybe a party. One of those big fireworks being sent up into the sky to spread my ashes would be a really cool send off.” I also think that being remembered by those who care with a big party would be best-but I would like my ashes stored with my soulmate’s in a beautiful container by 1 or more of my children. Fireworks are nice, but I want a place for them to relate and converse with me; I have my mother’s ashes under her favorite flowers in my garden.

The other 2 do not relate to me.

Thank You vldazzle My alternative plan to the firework is to have my ashes mixed with the soil to plant a tree. Yours sounds nice too.

Funny, how different people see different things in it.

My take was that he was reminded he had done a “naughty” and wanted to blog about it.

May say something about my personality.

madKanga: “My take was that he was reminded he had done a “naughty” and wanted to blog about it.”

My first impression was the same, but when reading the comments, I think the point is that “preaching” and “blogging” are about the same thing. Stated in different words by a lot of peeps.
