I’m grateful for the little things too. Like my iPod, my tablet, and my cell phone.

Rat has attained Happiness! Too bad, Goat (though I’m not sure I’d call you, of all the PBS characters, a “hippie yahoo”)….

I am grateful that Rat is only a comic character otherwise I might have put up with his political commercials when he runs for President.

@several people—What happened to the 1960s? “It was the worst of times, it was the best of times. It was a season of darkness, it was a season of light.” I’m aware that Charles Dickens wrote that about the French Revolution, but I can’t think of a better way to describe the years between 1960 and 1969!

That’s one point of view. Another is that reactionary rats are the reason. And who says the country is declining? The only constant is change and we’re changing rapidly but who says that the future won’t be better and brighter? You? And why should we take your word as authority? Some might say that the 50s were the period of this country’s worst decline; McCarthyism and a white male world that excluded diversity and positive change and a racism that was so toxic as to be pitiful and shameful. Growth can be painful and hard but an old fart like me sees as much evidence for that as for decline. It’s all opinions, you have yours, I have mine and neither are the last word or “fact.”

Rat does not know how to appreciate anything.
Not in the real sense of the word.
