That’s how I got my son to be brave for his shots. I told them the needles are filled with soldiers who will enter his body to fight off deadly diseases. He was still crying on “shot day” but he took it better than he did the year before.

    Pain is momentary, protection lifetime.

Don’t listen to scientific illiterate celebrities or internet bloggers. Get the vaccinations.

My son once laughed when he got his shots, the nurses thought he was crazy. My daughter, who has a beautiful voice, sings when she gets her shots. In the video below, she’s the first one singing the main solo.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AHcez6nZQSw

Such a blessing! Remember how our parents kept us away from swimming pools, afraid we’d get polio? The course of English history was changed because everybody but the Duke of York, who already had children, got mumps while they were in the military. (Although Wallis was a big help, too.)

A quick internet search finds that the flu and yellow fever vaccines are the only ones with real warnings for egg allergies. Yellow fever’s is not safe at all, while the flu’s is getting safer and is something that should be discussed with the doctor with regard to the level of allergy.Rabies is brought up, though there is at least one version without egg proteins and MMR is considered safe.

I did mention flu shots. I mentioned measles, mumps, diphtheria, polio and pertussis.

That information is directly from the CDC. You must renew your vaccinations for these disease to continue to be immune.

If you relax your muscles when the needle goes in, it will hurt less. That’s what my Dad told me when I was a kid, and it does help.

Dani Rice: Good point. I often think Hitler’s buddy, Edward, would have gone to Bermuda anyway; and Londoners wouldn’t have seen the Royal Standard over Buckingham Palace during the Blitz and be reminded that if with all the reasons to be elsewhere, His Majesty was sticking it out, so could they,

Boy, this sure packs a lot more meaning now (in 2022) than it did when it was first posted. Sigh.
