Well, this is awkward: Tiffany hanging with Luann and Bernice (with Delta on Skype).

My daughter does exactly this. She has a high school friend at college and they skype their other hs friends at other colleges.

See, it IS good for old friends to get together. They’ll always have each other to lean on, but, eventually, the presence of other people will also be a magnet… ;)

So when are they going to meet some new friends at their respective institutions? High school is over, girls.

I think that when Bernice saw Delta on Skype. She went and invited Tiffany to join her and Luann. I also think that Tiffany has gotten over Quill. With that friction gone. She and Luann can be friends again.

Oh how great would it be if Bernice and Tiffany became good friends and Luann fell by the way side?

It would be amazing if Skyping Delta was Tiffany’s idea, and Bernice had not even thought about it. But…we may never know!

it is good to still have your HS friends and yes eventually they will move on and make other friends in college, but you never ever forget your HS friends. It also is good to see that maybe they have gotten over the hs pettiness and are friends with Tiffany. Maybe that is all she really needed was a good friend.

It would appear that we may not discover the identity of this Dez…. not for awhile, anyway…

I hope though, that this doesn’t meant that Bern and Tiff are going to “buddy up,” as this strip suggests. I mean, some things are just plain “unnatural!” ;-PPP

I remember the first year at our university. If I came across someone from my high school in the hall, even it was someone I’d barely said two sentences to in the three years of HS, we’d both smile like we were long-lost buddies and stop and talk for as long as we could. After a few weeks, when the place got familiar and new friends were made, that kind of stopped.

So often it is difficult for me to read LuAnn. Today is one of your best, thanks!

Yes, I was confused until I saw the conversation had moved from WW to Bern’s Space.*Enemies you know are preferable to dormies you don’t. Guess Delta must be a bit lonely too! To be perfectly honest, I always wondered why classmates still hung with friends from high school when there were so many new interesting people to meet.

Sometimes you have a protagonist in your life, that somehow becomes a friend. I hope that’s what happens with Tiffany and Luann. But I’m not holding my breath.

What’s Tiffany doing there? it’s not like they are all close.

Nice, but Bernice needs to start trying to make friends in her dorm. First she needs to see if she can change roommates, or at least quit doing errands for her roommate’s friends.

I’m glad they’re not ostracizing Tiffany now though. She’s not really so bad—Luann is just as self-absorbed and would be just like Tiffany if she would have been a cheerleader in high school.

This is great! Wonderful seeing all the high school friends (and semi-friends, with Tiffany) getting together and having fun. This is not to say they are avoiding their new lives…. just that they are keeping the prior ties alive as well. Wonderful!!!!

Evans is allowing Tiffany to have a good time??? What happened, is she going to be retconned into a simpatico character?

Remember that Bernice turned to Tiffany for her all-important haircut that she debuted at graduation. Tiff was pleased to help. Why does everyone here hate Tiffany so much more than the characters in the strip do?

It’s good to see Tiff hanging and getting along with Luann, Bernice, and by Skype Delta. This is a not-uncommon start to college; after several weeks, Bernice and Tiffany are likely to have formed new friendships outside the old h.s. circle. Luann, being in CC as a commuter student, may have a tougher time ahead, socially.

Nice to see Tiff joining the crew. Maybe maturity is finally creeping up on her?

I think the dots from Bernice’s top are all in that green bowl… and they’re snacking on them…

Since Luann is based on Greg’s daughter who is now grown up, I’m willing to bet she had a friend like Tiffany who changed when she got into High School but once they both got into college, they realized how stupid they were acting and became friends again

I’m not so ready to say that Tiff has changed, fundamentally. Not based on this strip, anyway. One makeover does not a friendship make. Now, if we see a pattern of other acts of “fellowship” develop between Tiff and Bern, then maybe… just maybe…

And FTR, I don’t hate Tiff either. Goodness knows how she became who she is and who influenced her (or didn’t). But I’d say she has quite a bit of catching up to do before she even approaches Lu in re: integrity and heart.

Wow. I have been reading this strip for years and have NEVER seen Luann or Bernice hang out with Tiffany.

I never thought this day would come, but I’m glad it finally has!

Nice strip today! And I’m impressed with Tiffany, who initiated the contact. I’m sure that each of them will make new friends in due time, but right now, when their lives are undergoing seismic shifts, I’m glad they can lean on those old connections for just a bit longer.
