Lucy: So you did all that work on the essay for nothing? Danae: Oh, it's not over yet...The weirdness of "the incident" is too good to waste on a stupid school essay, so I'm turning it into a screenplay! Lucy: Ah...I suppose the next "sharknado" has to come from some-where. Danae: From your lips to a syfy channel producer's ears.

So THAT’S where they get their ideas….

I’m sorry – Skiffy, er SyFy, er Venereal Disease doesn’t do fantasy, Danae. We barely acknowledge they do science fiction. Save it for Canada’s SPACE Channel. I understand they’re a lot better…

We’ll do a show like “Firefly” only we’ll do it with wizards and dragons, and, oh, the cast will be made up of dwarves, and… What? Why are you all staring like that?

I caught the first 11 episodes of EXTANT, but it just got too weird.
I can think of a couple of boys in my childhood who would have loved this stuff, but it’s not for me.

Definitely! How in the galaxy they can justify airing WWE Smackdown is beyond explanation, even by Marvin the paranoid robot.

As another strip observed (after SciFI cancelled Stargate: Universe) – the channel is now run by lobotomized cats. [and yes, I know they changed their brand, I reject their reality and substitute my own]

The truth is out there..aliens did it; oh you want reality, then it was the undocumented immigrants who did it.

The Danae Show! Or is that hopelessly outdated for your unintelligible (to me) standards?

I’ll look at the review after the finale (TV Fanatic), and so far I have agreed with the reviewer. If she thinks it has redeemed itself, I’ll catch in OnDemand. .It started getting beyond my interest a few weeks ago and just kept going out.

You do know that “Science Fiction” are two words that should never go together… Don’t believe me? Look up the definition of each word in the dictionary. By definition the two words are like polar opposites yet, we continue to use them with gusto. (FYI, I like Sci-Fi, I just cringe when I see the two words together.
More dumb facts: Research is a strange word also. Re is a prefix meaning again, search is to… well, find something. Attach the two together and it should mean, we are looking for something that we lost or had once before and now we have to find it again. We (as in humans) do a lot of research. We are horrible at storage or retention… just sayin’

Somehow this comes as no surprise about SyFy.

The moment I saw a “horror” film scheduled on the Siffy channel, I stopped watching it.

Now if you can just spice up the experience with a couple of duck-hunting, pawn shopping, midget alien female jello-wrestlers you might just have something.
