Non Sequitur by Wiley Miller for March 28, 2010
Transcript:
Counting on the Graevsytes Voice: Hello...may I help you? Man: Yes, I'm from the census bureau. We just need a verification of how many people are living here. Voice: Oh...ok. Come on in! Man: Thank you. Dad: Maybe you should start with being more specific on what you mean by "living"... Man: C'mon, Larry...how complicated can it be to get a simple head count? Man: Funny you should use that term...

Must not be in Chicago, he didn’t count the “head” stones.

Why shouldn’t they be counted? They voted, didn’t they?

There’s a defnite Charles Addams feel to Non Sequitur – which is why I love it so much.

i am having my sixth nose count. I wonder if I should greet the enumerator with a silver tray or the plain old turkey platter.

One of my favorite things about Non Sequitur is that, when I open the comic, I never know who’s going to be there - Danae and Lucy, Joe, the Graevsytes, Earl and Edna, Cap’n Eddie, Homer’s past lives, Ordinary Basil - or someone (and sometimes something) totally new and different.
I guess I love the variety as much as I do the writing and art.
Thanks, Wiley!

Larry, you forgot counting the deads with the headstones outside of the Graevsytes’ manison. The deads live with the Graevsytes for many many years.

Do small furry people count? There’s Siamese inside & cottontails & kangaroo rats in the yard. I think one of the roorats ate the tarantula. The there are the voices, but that’s probably just a transmission the alien implant is picking up. Anyone know a repairman?
Wiley needs to add Graevsytes doormats & Danae shirts to the marketing. Maybe a model kit for the Cap’n’s boat.

first comic I read every day
thanks Wiley
on a side note, Charles Addams called his comic the Home Bodies, and the Addams Family was based on those. I still have one of my grandmother’s C. Addams books………….somewhere

For purposes of this comic strip, Gomez will not be a Hispanic name.

“Thank you, thing” I only wish knowing how many people there are in this country worked towards bringing us closer together… Commonality of man, dedication of purpose.
