Susan I agree with you with all the posting Mr. Walt will be constantly busy. Joe I agree with your idea mentoring with boys who don’t have fathers let along grandfathers. That is if they will listen to real old people talk.
My grandparents have been gone a long time.
And my mom mostly lives in by gone days. She knows what year it is. She is 85 now.
Like the famous Ray Bradbury short story where a young boy talks to a Civil War veteran, Walt is a literal time machine. He should be giving talks at the library, schools, etc.
To all—-Walt would be a walking history lesson in real life. My great-grandmother, the only one I knew, was born in 1876 and died in 1973. She grew up on a farm in central Georgia. Had six children, four of them moved to different parts of the country. She began life riding behind a horse and before she died she saw men walk on the moon and flew in an 747. I sure miss my talks with her to this day.

He got a good rest at the hospital?
Don’t tell me that you liked the food too!

Gertie must have found Walt’s fuzzy purple pimp hat in the attic while he was in the hospital.

@jad–What an inspiring story. I love it.

Last time Gertie had Walt doing something else, he ended up at Corky’s Diner while Gertie was stealing Earl Lee Byrd’s show.
