B.E. -Before Eve- When Eden was an all-dude paradise. Adam: I think I've got it! Rolf: Non-lethal gas? Adam: Better...I made something that'll control the universe! Rolf: Cool! What is it? Adam: I call it "the clock"...if I want more daylight, I move this thing forward. Rolf: Ah...more time for pizza and beer...go on. Adam: And if I want another hour of sleep before work, I just move it back! Rolf: Uhh... What's "work"? Adam: Um...hmm. Ok...I'll make a little adjustment here, and... Behold...the dartboard!! Rolf: Ok, now it makes sense.

I don’t see why you’re worried about circadian rhythm. All summer long, those cicadas seem to keep pretty good rhythm. Noisy buggers, though.

Spring ahead, fall back – IF you have windup watches and clocks. If you have digital, it’s spring ahead 23 hours in the fall.
Arianne about 10 years ago
That’s a good fall back position in the last panel.

I always wondered how people who complain about their rhythm being screwed by 1 measly hour of time difference manage to vacation on another continent.

The time should be changed 1 half hour and left that way.

Back in Indiana years ago, most of the state didn’t change. But the next county west did change for half of the year, while the next county north (which happened to be in Michigan) changed for the other half of the year. I ran service calls, and it was crazy-making to set an appointment in either direction. Plus, closing time for them could be 4 or 6 my time, depending on the time of the year.

I haven’t changed a clock in years. No really, all my timepieces do it automatically. Yeah, even the clock radio.

I have often wondered how the game of darts came about.
Daniel Quilp about 10 years ago
Strange, he has a beer keg, pizza box and beer cans, but no clothing. Who makes those items?

Daylight savings was never for farmers, they always set their own time, or, more accurately, had their time set for them by forces beyond the control of Washington.

whatever silly

Boy, did you just jog my memory. Two teenage daughters and a menopausal wife in the same house. Oh and the yardape twin boys providing the background noise. “Time of the month?” Can’t touch it!

DST was implemented by the railroads after standardized time was started, based on a satirical publication by Ben Franklin a century earlier. It has always been about urban industrialism, not farmers. At least do a little fact-checking before posting.

Now that there is more Daylight Savings Time than Standard Time, Standard Time is sub-standard.

Don’t we all wish to live in more stable times? It’s going to take weeks to reset my alarm cats.
Ermine Notyours about 10 years ago
Daylight Saving Time is a conspiracy by morning people against evening people.
Meh~tdology, fka Pepelaputr about 10 years ago
I don’t get an extra hour; the cats don’t ever reset their clocks.
Guilty Bystander about 10 years ago
I like this one. Wouldn’t it be great if we could turn back the clock and…oh…never mind.
hippogriff about 10 years ago
Keep mean solar time and if you think DST improves anything, just change business hours, not the clock.

That’s a fairly accurate depiction of what some other cultures think of America’s obsession with “time.”

Me too — I wish we could stay on DST all year.

Daylight Savings Time never made sense to me, and it never will. And it was Mr Obama’s unelected predecessor who made it longer…
