The puns frequently annoy me, occasionally get a smile out of me, but the final panel is hilarious. That step above the punery (whilst also associating with it) is definitely where its at.

I always enjoy Pastis’ puns, even the lame ones. Today’s is actually quite funny and Panel 6 is an instant classic all by itself. No pun required.

He’s even inspiring violence in Goat now.

That would be funnier – Except the Italian gov’t stabilized Pisa over 15 years ago.

Pastis submitted a list of ten puns to the annual O. Henry Pun Off, hoping at least one would win but no pun in ten did.

I read that the Leaning Tower of Pisa is actually moving back to straightening up.

very smooth with a hint of comic relief done up in a nice complete package. probably a good stifled giggle given up by the reader would complete the ambience.

The first time I came across this it was “Give peas a chance” on the “Dinosaurs” TV show from the 1990s. The parents were upset because the kid wanted to be a vegetarian.
